He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Schalow and June Schalow (Stowell); his brother Gary; his father-in-law Bill Coger; and his brother-in-law Brewster Fouts.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his daughters, Brooke Shaffer (Adam) and Ashley (Nick Mansour); his grandson Keegan Jauw; his siblings, Kim Davis, Marsha Rosser (Joseph), Randy (Lizbeth Sauceda) and Brent (Joyce Vilamore); his mother-in-law Evelyn Coger; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Coger, Joyce Fouts (John Cassidy), Connie Wing (Kevin) and Carolyn Simmonds (Shawn). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
