He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schaffer and Joyce Schaffer (Jedele); his siblings-in-law, Ronald Dillingham and Barb Schaffer; and his nieces, Christy Dillingham and Becky Schaffer.
He is survived by: his wife Connie of Fowlerville, MI.; his children, Dawn Simon (Brian) and William Schaffer (Jayme); his brothers, Larry and Rob Schaffer (Elaine); his grandchildren, Ashley Sabadell, McKenna Smith (Zack), Thomas Rhodes (Abby), Jessicia Schaffer and Jordan Rhodes; his great grandchildren, Anthony, Paisliegh, Kendall, Augustus, Luka and Haden; his stepgrandchildren, Brian Simon Jr., James Simon (Carey) and Madison Simon; and his stepgreat-grandchild Nolen Jr..
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Emanual United Church of Christ (324 W Main St, Manchester, MI 48158).
Memorial contributions can be made to Emanuel United Church of Christ and Arbor Hospice.
