She was predeceased by: her parents, Adolph Schmitzer and Lorraine Schmitzer (Judd); her husband Bill; her parents-in-law, Charles and Florence Dunning; her brother Richard'Dick'Schmitzer; and her brothers-in-law, Thomas Dunning and Jerry Dickerson.
She is survived by: her children, Christopher Dunning (Christine) of Auburn, MI, Colleen Thompson (Dan) of Fort Myers, FL and Thom Dunning (Stacy) of Grand Rapids, MI; her grandchildren, Caleb Dunning (Brittany), Carli Bowman (Peter Winberg), Stephanie Dorman (Ryan) and Nathan Thompson (Amy); her great grandchildren, Jasper, River, Noah and Chloe; and her sisters-in-law, Ruth Schmitzer and Sandra Dickerson.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Carole.
