He was predeceased by: his mother Eva Christine Bernard (Kischessay); and his brothers, Moses Bernard and Marcelino Bernard. He is survived by: his father Moses Duane Bernard; his wife Lou "Angel" Bernard; his children, Abraham Bernard of Manistique, Zebulon Bernard of Las Vegas, Benjamin Bernard of Manistique, Ezra Bernard of Manistique, Michigan, Rebecca Jary (Patrick) of South Lyon and Aurora Bernard of Fortuna, California; and his siblings, Benjamin Bernard (Charlene) of Manistique, Michigan and Cecilia Bernard of Las Vegas, Nevada.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
