He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. LaPointe and Genevieve LaPointe (Tasson); and his sister Patricia Anderson of Ishpeming, Michigan.. He is survived by: his wife Betty Newlin; his sons, John Derek LaPointe of Manistique and Drew LaPointe (Tammy); his grandchild Kellan LaPointe of Royal Oak; and his brothers-in-law, David Anderson of Ishpeming and Ron Newlin of Saukville, WI. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
