He was predeceased by : his grandparents, Edmund, Marjorie Tiedt, Guy, Ila Coleman, William and Julia Phelps.

He is survived by : his parents, Roland Phelps (Gladys) of Evart and Ellen Jean Phelps (Tiedt) of Sears; and his siblings, Kevin Phelps (Sandy) of Clarkston, Randy Phelps (Nancy) of Ada, Diane Brackett (Bruce) of Sears, Marcia Truxton-Frye (Scott) of Norton Shores, Tom Bell (Amy) of Greenville, Patti Bell of Rodney, Marshall Smaltz (Crystal) of Caledonia, David Phelps (Cheri) of Lowell, Missy Schwoerer (Eric) of Green Bay, WI and Andy Phelps of Grand Rapids. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
