He was predeceased by: his son John Russell Van Maldegen. He is survived by: his wife Patricia (Maynard); and his children, Thomas (Paula), Todd (Kathleen) and Amy Schultz (Jack). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
