He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Nicholas and Ruth Nicholas (Stolnack); his sister Sandra Salmela; and his siblings-in-law, Jeanette Nicholas and Ron Stuard.

He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer Nicholas; his siblings, Nancy Stuard, Jack Nicholas (Sharon), Bob Nicholas and Debbie Seppanen (Gordy); and his brother-in-law Chet Salmela. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Negaunee Cemetery.
