He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl William and Sarah Marie Johnson (McNamara); and his siblings, Lawrence "Buck", Allen, Keith, Donald Johnson, Margaret "Muggs" Lemire, Gertrude Johnson, Frances Johnson, Teresa Rodriguez, Grace Ouelette and Agnes Rukkila Moore.

He is survived by: his wife June Milkovich; his children, Mary Johnson (Eric Piirainen) of Marquette, Dale Johnson of Marquette, Jeff Johnson of Marquette and Gary Johnson of Marquette; and his siblings, Paul Johnson (Vergil) of Swartz Creek, MI and Violet Fezzey of Oceanside, CA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
