She was predeceased by: her parents, Evald Sommers and Tyyne Sommers (Hangas); her husband Edward; her siblings, Lorraine Girslis, David Sommers and John Sommers; and her son-in-law Luc Litwinionek.
She is survived by: her friends, Fred and June Rhydhom; her children, Lake Superior, Elizabeth and David (Trish); her grandchildren, Julia, Leighton, Ethan (Ashley), Gabrielle, Nash, Natalie, Joseph, Theresa and Christianna; her great grandchildren, Arabella and Lilly; her sister Susan Sommers; her brother-in-law John Locke (Cathy); and her cousin Ersel Nichols (Don). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trillium House or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
