It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary E. Downey of Marquette, Michigan, who passed away on January 26, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Walter Bashaw; her husband Edward Downey, Jr.; her siblings, Margaret Spitz and Robert Bashaw; and her close friend Raymond VanLinden.
She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Basal (Robert) of Marquette and Edward Downey III (Elizabeth) of Leawood, KS; her grandchildren, Jennifer Kraska of Salisbury, NC, Julee Kaurala (Michael) of Marquette and Brian Burnett (Stephanie) of Bentonville, AR; and her great grandchildren, Blake Burnett, Bryce Burnett, Brodie Burnett and William Kaurala. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
