Robert J. Mathews Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert J. Mathews of Marquette, Michigan, who passed away on February 2, 2023 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Francis Mathews; his former wife Catherine; his wife Estelle; his children, Pamela Ann Mathews of Negaunee and Mark Mathews; his stepson Stephen Savitski; his siblings, Ann Heitman, Elizabeth Hill and William Mathews; and his son-in-law David Strahl.

He is survived by: his sons, Christopher Mathews of Big Bay and Curtis Mathews (Susan) of Marquette; his stepson David Savitski (Susan); his grandchildren, Katelyn Loretti (Mark), Nolan Mathews, Demi Mathews, Jim Pearson, Stu Pearson, Danielle Johnson, Ian Savitski, Jingshan and Jinghan Savitski; his great grandchildren, Cameron and Chloe Savitski; and his sisters, Mary Catherine Mathews of Marquette and Jeanette Klit (Jerry) of Gladstone. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
