He is survived by: his girlfriend Barbara Fassbender of Marquette; his daughters, Kristi Smith of Marquette and Katie Van Buren of Negaunee; his grandchildren, Jacob Smith (Erin), Eli Van Buren and Amelia Van Buren; his great grandchildren, Storm and Zelda; and his siblings, Rita Marshall (John) of Sand River, Neva Hill (Jerry) of Negaunee Township, Jo Ann (John), Buryl Smith (Penny) of Palmer and Mike Smith (Kerry) of Missouri.
