He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Boshears (Beatty) and Rodney Lewis Boshears. He is survived by: his children, Denise Garbacz (Nick) of Port Charlotte, Florida, Dian Nielsen (Peter) of Pebble Beach, California and David Boshears of Marshall, Michigan.; and his grandchildren, Kyle Garbacz, Matthew and James Nielsen.

Memorial contributions in Doug's name may be given to the Humane Society of South-Central Michigan, 2500 Watkins Road, Battle Creek, MI 49015. Assistance with the memorials will be provided at the funeral home, or contributions may be made directly to the charity.
