He was predeceased by : his parents, Douglas Dadow and Ada Dadow; and his siblings, Bev, Doug, Dale and Garry.

He is survived by : his wife Velda Sharpsteen; his son Fred Jr.; his grandchildren, Jennifer Dye and Brian Dadow; his great grandchildren, Riley Dye and Logan Dye; his siblings, John (Sue) and Wauneta; his siblings-in-law, Sharon and Rodney Winchell; and his nieces, Sandy Winchell and Amy Winchell.
