He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosemary III (Litton) and Dr. Jim Maynard III; and his sister Annie (Gudenrath). He is survived by: his wife Laura (Perry); his son James (Becky (Griffiths)) of Coldwater; his grandchildren, Ashley (Smith), Dillon, Jimmy and Kenzi; his son Mikey (Jessica (Lewis)) of Coldwater; his grandchildren, Cece, Tommy and Rosie; his daughter Katie of Coldwater; his grandchild Chris; and his siblings, Mary, Bridget (Gudenrath), Rosie (Gazda), Theresa (Ramelb), John and Dr. Colleen (Cirotski) of Kansas City.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services (723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068). A rosary will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St Mary Catholic Parish Church (212 W Hanover St, Marshall, MI 49068). A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the St Mary Cemetery (18245 Centennial Rd, Marshall, MI 49068).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Saint Mary Catholic Church, the Ronald McDonald House West Michigan, or the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence.
