He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis McCann and Catherine McCann (Troush); his grandfather John; and his siblings, Shirley Boyer and Patrick McCann.

He is survived by: his wife Linda McCoy; his children, John McCann, Jr. of Owosso and Lori Schooley (Kevin) of South Haven; his grandchildren, Nicholas Schooley (Taylor Harrison), Callie McCann (Zac Harbath), Jackson Schooley, Samantha McCann (Josh MacPherson) and Katherine Schooley (Max McGuire); Linda.
