He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Burghart, and Christina Burghart, Sr. (Budine); his daughter Heather Burghart-Cottrell; and his siblings, William, Raymond, Roy Burghart and Janice Hoag.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Burghart of Marshall, Michigan; his children, Robert Burghart, III (Gwen) of West Chicago, Heidi Fouty of Ceresco, Randall Burghart (Kristen) of Grand Rapids, Heike Burghart Rice (Sarah Genevieve) of State College and Hannelore Burghart (Andrew) of Brattleboro, Vermont; his grandchildren, Emerson Burghart, Lawson Burghart, Felicity Burghart-Poe (Braydyn), Esme Burghart, Ransom Burghart, Gregory Fouty (Abbigail), Katherine Lanphar (Everett), Timothy Fouty, Michael Fouty, Grace Fouty, Chauncey Burghart, Rowan Burghart, Finneus Burghart, Cecily Burghart, Hugo Rice, Osanna Rice, Benedikt Rice and Savanna Kastanie; and his great grandchildren, Andrew Lanphar, Rosealyn Lanphar and Titus Lanphar. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
