He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H. Shippell Sr. and Elsie F. Shippell; his son Rick Shippell; and his brothers, Monda Jo Shippell and Joseph Shippell.
He is survived by: his children, Kari Bowman (RJ), Robb Guess and Ryan Shippell; his brother Brian Shippell (Debbie); and his sister-in-law Mitsue Shippell. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Vickers Springport Funeral Home (121 Pearl St, Springport, MI 49251). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Rice Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
