He was predeceased by : his wife Leela; his parents, Sundaram Iyengar and Kothaiammel Iyengar; and his siblings, Kamala Ranganathan, S. Srinivasan, S. Krishnaswami, S. Ranganathan, S. Ramaswami and Simon.
He is survived by : his children, Veena and Dev Raj; and his daughter-in-law Amy Jarvis. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
