He was predeceased by : his parents, Lloyd Ransbottom and Gertrude Ransbottom (Sutherland); his wife Bonnie Closs; his siblings, Lloyd Ransbottom, Jr., MaryAnne Root, Georgia Shook, Wesley Ransbottom, Walter Ransbottom and Bill Ransbottom; and his significant other Bonnie Ransbottom.

He is survived by : his children, Teri Schiedel (Robert), Daniel Ransbottom (Harriett) and Randi Ransbottom; and his grandchildren, Matthew Schiedel (Jennifer), Angela Daniels (Jason), Nicole Whittemore (William), Lisa Butler (Adam), Jenny Cooper (Rex Owens) and Ben Ransbottom. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
