He was predeceased by : his parents, Harrison VanDyke and Carol VanDyke; his father-in-law Curt White; his sister Julie VanDyke; and his sister-in-law Rosanne VanDyke.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara W. VanDyke; his sons, Samuel VanDyke and Mason VanDyke; his granddaughter Caidra VanDyke; his stepmother Patricia VanDyke; his mother-in-law Dorene White; his siblings, Brad VanDyke, Sherri VanDyke Nylander (Jeffrey) and Eric VanDyke; and his close friends, Jim Hahn, George Hubbard and Mark Ruhala. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Mason Public Schools Fine Arts Programs, 201 W. Ash Street, Suite 2AMason, MI 48854, Mason First Presbyterian Church, or the Ruhala Performing Arts Center, 1846, Haslett Road, East Lansing, MI 48823.
