Laurice Kopta Obituary

Laurice Ann Kopta age 74 of Mattawan passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Laurie was born in Evergreen Park, IL on March 17, 1952, the daughter of Frank J. and Catherine M. (Schultz) Bader. Laurie had a long-time career with Upjohn/Pharmacia/Pfizer and completed her career as a Lab Tech at Borgess Hospital. She was an avid reader. A lover of animals big and small, she enjoyed watching birds and feeding the animals in her yard. She loved her cats and dogs. Nothing was more important to her than her grandchildren. Laurie is survived by her son, Chris (Courtney) Kopta; grandchildren, Kinley, Kylah, Karsyn, Knox; siblings, Mary (Carl) Dampier, Paul (Lenore) Bader, Roberta (Dave) Hahn, Tom (Sue) Bader, Jack (Sue) Bader, Joe (Shirley Glowacki) Bader and Jim (Merri) Bader; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Laurie was preceded in death by her parents.
