He was predeceased by : his father Carl Straub; his wife Margaret A. Schuyler; his children, Debra Balcom, Matthew Straub and Michael Straub; his son-in-law Don Werstein; his grandson Daniel Balcom; and his siblings, Richard Straub, Norman Straub, Robert Straub, Kenny Straub, Jimmy Straub and Mary Jane Spaulding.

He is survived by : his children, Lynette Gyde (Ray), Cindy Ammerman, Marvin Straub, Marie Werstein, Melvin Straub (Juley), Mark Straub, Joe Straub (Carolee) and Cliff Straub; his son-in-law Dave Balcom; his siblings, Donald Straub, Dale Straub and Kathleen Franklin; and his sister-in-law Mary Straub. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
