It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jeff Donald Koetje of McBain, Michigan, who passed away on October 1, 2025, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Donald Koetje; and his in-laws, Dave and Vicki Larr. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Sue; his mother Eleanor Karsten; his birth mother Betty Simmons-Billings; his children, Jordan Hoekwater (Lisa), Ryan Hoekwater (Taylor), Dora Herweyer, Christopher and Jeremiah Koetje; his siblings, Sheryl Whitehouse (Jeffery), Lincoln VanDrie (Joy), Heidi Roberts (Joey), Jodi VanDrie, Linda Westdorp (Butch), Jon Larr, Larry Larr (Marcie), Kraig Karsten (Kim), Kim Curtis (Matt) and Randy Karsten (Elizabeth); and his father-in-law Les VanDrie (Carol). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home (211 N Pine St, McBain, MI 49657). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Rehoboth Reformed Church (8372 S Lucas Rd, McBain, MI 49657).
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorial donations be made to the Veterans serving Veterans Park of Cadillac.
