He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornilius Koetje and Jennie Koetje (Mulder); and his siblings, Jay, Henry, Kenneth, James, Margaret and Nelly.

He is survived by: his wife Norma TeBos; his children, Keith Koetje (Lori), Steve Koetje (Tamara) and Dawn Hoekstra (Dave); his grandchildren, Amy, Tracy, Becky, Lynn, Heather, Jason and Ashley; and his sister Angie Troost. He is also survived by seventeen great- grandchildren and one great great- grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Northern Michigan Christian School.
