Norma Smith Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Norma Smith of Mecosta, Michigan, who passed away on January 3, 2026, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parent Claude; her husband Richard P. Smith; and her sisters, Betty Doezema and June Wollner. She is survived by: her children, Linda S. Green (Smith) of Sparta, Richard P. Smith (Debra) of Grand Rapids, Carole J. Ortega (Carlos) of Holt and Denver; and her grandchildren, Heather Holland (Smith), Rudy Ortega, Richard R. Smith (Emma), Monica Sawicki (Steve) and Jessica Green (Cole). She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Chapel of the Lakes Lutheran Church, and Faith Hospice.
