Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Emily leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Allen Shearer; her daughters, Andrea Prudden (Doug) and Michelle De Mattei; her grandchildren, Grady Garlinger, Gracie Russell, Jet De Mattei, Halen De Mattei and Baron De Mattei; and her pets, Sophie Sue and Emma Lou.

It is suggested that donations made in Emily's name be directed to the Vicksburg library.
