He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Scare and Helen Scare (Germann); his children, Victor Scare and Robin Scare; and his siblings, Walter Scare, Adolph Scare, Herbert Scare, Esther Gallmeyer and Erma Mecklenberg.
He is survived by: his wife LaVelle Scare; his children, Vickie Eichorn (Ardi), Dixie Earl (Tom), Cindy Scare, Rex Scare (Kari) and Scott Scare; his daughter-in-law Tammy Wood (late Victor); and his siblings, Henry Scare (Shirley), Paul Scare (Phyllis), John Scare, Anna Wilson (Bob), Agnes Storms and Mary Craaybeek (James). He is also survived by His family circle also includes 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Schipper Funeral Home (308 S Blackstone Ave #9340, Colon, MI 49040). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Schipper Funeral Home Ltd. (308 S Blackstone Ave #9340, Colon, MI 49040). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at the Lakeside Cemetery (57215 N Farrand Rd, Colon, MI 49040).
In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial donations to be made to Three Rivers Hospice.
