He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Wood and Ruth Wood (Herald); his grandson Randy Wood; and his son-in-law Lyle Powelson. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Wood; and his children, Sherry (Tom Walker), Crystal Powelson, Lance (Pam Wood) and Kimber (Karen Wood). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Smith Family Funeral Homes (1333 E Center St, Ithaca, MI 48847). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the New Haven Church of the Brethren (7587 Grant Rd, Middleton, MI 48856). A burial will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at the Payne Cemetery.
