He was predeceased by: his parents, George Raymond Shier and Marie Shier (Shouse); his wife Quita Verban Shier; and his granddaughter Samantha Shier. He is survived by: his children, George Steven Shier (Kristen Shier), Andrew David Shier (Nicki Shier) and Anita Dawn (Shier); his grandchildren, Daane Helmus, Benjamin Helmus, Mitchell Helmus, Arianna Shier, Teddy Shier, Nathan Shier and Owen Shier; his brothers, John Shier (Kathy Shier) and Daniel Shier (Clare Shier); and his sister-in-law Chiqeeta V. Jameson (Craig Jameson). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
