He is survived by: his children, James D. Whiteside II (Sallie Ann), Elizabeth Ann (Svein Gyland), Barbara K (Roy Knopp) and John Brogden Whiteside (Theresa); and his grandchildren, Shayna Brown, Gregory Whiteside, Julie Richards, Eileen Skjelhaugen, Ryan Knopp, April Grasso, Lauren Brooks, Stephen Whiteside, Kelly Kriebel, Kevin, Nicholas, Michael, Mary and Philip Whiteside. He is also survived by 24 great grandchildren.
