She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Vollmer and Mildred Vollmer; her husband Ben; her siblings, Norma Jean Williams and Jerry Vollmer; her brother-in-law Don Sarkozy; her nephew Kevin Chaussee; and her great-nieces, Barbara Peterson, Janet Mayer and Bonnie King.
She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara Peterson (Duane), Janet Mayer and Bonnie King (Russ); her sister Janice Sarkozy of Laguna Woods; her sister-in-law Judy Vollmer Chaussee (Maynard); her son-in-law Russ King (Sharon); and her friend Faye. She is also survived by 6 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 19 great grand children.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (315 W Larkin St, Midland, MI 48640). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. For over40 years, Joanne worked Tuesday afternoons in the Genealogy room at the Dow Library until Covid hit.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, West Midland Family Center, or Optimal Care Hospice.
