He was predeceased by: his parents, James Aubrey May, Sr. and June Edwina May (DeLine); his brother Jim; his brother-in-law Terry Smith; and his pet Pecos.
He is survived by: his wife Millicent Valek (Mimi); his children, Jennifer May Meyer (Craig) and John Alan May, Jr. (Jeni); his stepson Michael Valek (Angela); his grandchildren, Josephine, James Tucker Meyer, Camden, Jackson May, Ava and Ella Valek; his sisters, Becky Smith and Ione Magsig (Dave); and his siblings-in-law, Jane May and Larry Moerbe (Christi). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family, and a community of friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the John May and Millicent Valek scholarship fund at the Brazosport College Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
