She was predeceased by : her parents, Mark McKinnon and Eleanor L. McKinnon (Hendricks); her husband James D. Whalen; and her brother Sonny McKinnon. She is survived by : her daughters, Melody Bunting and Tina Frayer; her stepson Jeremy Whalen; her grandchildren, Steven, Scott, Joshua, Kay, John and Eli; and her sister Juanita Dickenson. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Wilson Miller Funeral Home (4210 N Saginaw Rd, Midland, MI 48640). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at the Midland Memorial Gardens (565 N Meridian Rd, Midland, MI 48640).

Memorial contributions may be offered to Residential Hospice or the Toni and Trish House.
