He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Rieger and Laurabelle Rieger (Middaugh); his wife Gerrie; and his siblings, Leona "Onie" Pomranke and Leonard "Lenny" "The Goat" Rieger.
He is survived by: his children, Shelley Rieger (Mark Kuizenga) of Bay City, Sheri Duflo (John) of Newberry, Roulene Condit of Onaway, Angie Joseph (Bob) of Missouri, Rolland Rieger (Michelle) of Millersburg and James Rieger (Julie) of Millersburg; his grandchildren, Sterling McGinn, Jimmy Rieger II, Rolland Rieger II, Donia Parr, Levi Parr (Katie), Aaron Parr, Jenica Joseph and Jaymin Joseph (Kate); his great grandchildren, Chase, Hattie, Dakota, Ellie, Emma and Nevaeh Parr; and his sisters, Deborah Kreft of Florida, Sharon Johnston of Crystal Falls, Geraldine Kranzo (Les) of Hawks and Jerry Salada. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
His contributions to the community were recognized in 2020 when he was named Honored Citizen of Millersburg.
