He was predeceased by: his parents, Alger Freel and Florence Freel (Kimball); his siblings, Geneva Fleming, Loretta Freel, Joyce Sabel, Maurice, Neil, Bruce and Jay Freel; his daughter Eileen Freel; and his nephew Alger Fleming.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Heron; his children, Kathy Ellenberger (Mark) of Millersburg, Colin Freel (Esther) of Millersburg and Carrie Boda (Rick) of Virginia; his grandchildren, Sarah Mulka (Joe), Luke Ellenberger, Molly Stowe (Kohl), Levi Ellenberger (Marika), Isaac Freel (Hannah Leigh), Hannah Jean Freel, Ezekiel Freel, Jessie Miller (Mike), Josiah Boda (Jael), Gwen Anderson (Steve) and Jace Boda (Bethany); his great grandchildren, Abbey, Patrick, Elijah, Leo, Kooper, Kinley, Maci, Jacob, Ryan, Katie, Hadassah, Selah, Zipporah, Atticus, Matthias, Blair and Theo; and his sisters-in-law, Ann Freel Cope, Nancy Gould and Connie Albrecht. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
