He was predeceased by : his parents, Leonard Mercer and Agnes Mercer (Sindilier); and his siblings, LeRoy, Ken and Marian.

He is survived by : his wife Miss Patsy Zink; his children, Dan Mercer (Patty), Karen Hess (Steve), David Mercer (Janet), Dale Mercer (Tracy), Donna Weber (Dan), Dean Mercer and Dawn Rueger (Tim); and his siblings, Lois Weinzierl, Clare Mercer (Donna) and Tim Mercer (Doris). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews extended family and friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hanlin Funeral Home - Millington (4823 Main St, Millington, MI 48746). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at the Millington Township Cemetery (4921 Main St, Millington, MI 48746).
