He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Kirkey and Esther Kirkey (Cooper); his son Larry Kirkey; his grandson Hunter Miller; his sister Shirley Opperman; and his son-in-law Richard Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Kirkey; his daughters, Connie Sutherland and Carol Kirkey-Miller (Joseph Shemanski); his grandchildren, Alex Myers (Rachel), Larry Joe Kirkey and Kristen Bednarski (Joshua); his sisters, Charlotte Zuhlke and Susan Walker; and his close friend Keith Phar. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hanlin Funeral Home - Millington (4823 Main St, Millington, MI 48746). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at the Millington Township Cemetery (4921 Main St, Millington, MI 48746).
Memorial donations may be directed to the Millington Baptist Church.
