Shirley leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Shirley’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Shirley will carry forward her memory in their hearts.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Rolland Fletcher and Alice Fletcher; her sons, Gerald Jr. and Ronald; and her son-in-law David Green.

She is survived by: her husband Gerald Balcer Sr.; and her daughters, Carolyn, Nancy (Jeff) and Valerie. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hanlin Funeral Home - Millington (4823 Main St, Millington, MI 48746). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Hanlin Funeral Home - Millington Starts (4823 Main St, Millington, MI 48746). A burial was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Millington Township Cemetery (4921 Main St, Millington, MI 48746).
