He was predeceased by : his daughter Amber Bannister; and his brother William. He is survived by : his wife Theresa; his children, Helen Bannister, Stevie Bannister Jr., April Boyl (David), Jerry Gilbert III and Ruby Kuivinen; his grandchildren, Jason, Jordan, Bradley, Kayanna, Jerry IV, Steven, William, Arealya, Eric, Arieana, Regan and Isabella; his siblings, Robert (Betty), Joe, Louise, Jackie and Clayton; and his extended family, Aliceia Gilbert and Earl Parker.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Modetz Funeral Home Silverbell Chapel (100 E Silverbell Rd, Orion Twp, MI 48360). A memorial service was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
