Timothy Arthur Culbertson Obituary

Timothy Arthur Culbertson, known to many as Tim, passed away on August 6, 2026, in Mio, Michigan, at the age of 65.

He was born on July 10, 1961, in Alliance, Ohio, and lived a life marked by love, loyalty, hard work, and a spirited sense of humor. Tim was loving, funny, and courageous, and those qualities were reflected in the way he cared for his family, the pride he took in his work, and the many relationships he built throughout his life.

Tim married the love of his life, Tammie Twitty, on February 18, 1983, and they were married again on October 1, 2011, a reflection of the deep and lasting bond they shared. Together, they built a family that was central to Tim's life and brought him great joy. He is survived by his sons, Justin Rodriguez, Tony Rodriguez, Kale Culbertson, and Ezekiel Braund, his daughters, Chasity (Shawn Bivins) Rodriguez, Leanna (Michael) Thomson, and Emma Lemanski. He was a proud grandfather to Mannie, Peyton, Jaxon, Angel, Isabella, Elliana, Skyler, Blake, Everette, Aria, Aydan, and Thea, and he cherished each of them deeply. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and foster children who were blessed by his presence and care along with the many friends whom he met along life's way.

Tim is also survived by his brothers, William (Shirley) Culbertson, Robert (Darlene) Culbertson, Michael Culbertson, Charles Culbertson, and Daniel Culbertson, his sisters, Francis Parker, Bonnie Plumb, Lori Collins, and Debra (Larry) Boyer. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Cindy Laningham, his brother-in-law, Richard Twitty, and his sister-in-law, Jennifer Seeley. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marlene (Killips) Culbertson, whose memory remained important to him throughout his life.

Tim graduated from Melvindale High School and in 1978, he joined the Marines and was proud of his time in the service. His time in the Marines was a meaningful part of his life, and it reflected the strength, discipline, and courage that stayed with him always. After the Marines he went on to build a long and steady career as an over-the-road truck driver. He spent nearly 30 years in trucking, and for the last 14 years of his career, he worked with AD Transport. He took pride in his work and understood the value of showing up, doing the job well, and providing for the people he loved.

Outside of work, Tim enjoyed the simple things that made life good. He loved rock and roll music and was a rocker through and through. He also enjoyed yard work and tinkering with just about everything, finding satisfaction in staying busy and working with his hands. Those who knew him will remember his easy laugh, his strong presence, and the way he could bring warmth and humor into a room.

Tim's life was one of devotion to family, steadfast friendship, and quiet strength. He will be remembered for the love he gave, the stories he shared, the work he accomplished, and the lasting impression he made on the many lives he touched. His memory will remain a source of comfort and pride to all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held on August 22, 2026, starting at 1:00pm at the family home located at 463 Boerner Rd. Mio, MI. 48647.
