He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Abbe and Lillian Abbe (Cohoon); his wives, Betty Ann Abbe, Mariam Abbe and Beverly Abbe; his son Greg Abbe; his grandson Addison Esch; and his great grandchild Jonas Bollon.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Esch (John), Gwen Hodapp, George Hofsommer (Richele) and Ray Caples (Lunette); and his sisters, Joan Hildebrand (Doran) and Deborah Bretall. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren.
