She was predeceased by: her parents, Reuben Pelland and Helmi Pelland (Waltanen); her husband Phillip Switzer; her grandson Michael Gilbert; her nephew Robert Pelland; her brother-in-law R. Michael Smith; and her pet Lolli.

She is survived by: her children, Kimberly Gilbert of Calumet and Mark Switzer (Brenda Ollikainen) of Copper City; her grandchildren, Natalie Switzer and Ashton Gilbert; her great grandchild Oakley Gilbert; her siblings, Ronald Pelland of Flint, Linda Smith of Flint and Thomas Pelland of Laurium; and her close friends, Bill and Rachel Olson.
