He was predeceased by: his grandfather John; his parents, Elizabeth Dykstra (Betty) and Menno Dykstra; and his daughter Deborah Jo Rookus. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Rookus (Alverson); his children, Tim (Pam Rookus), Mark (Sandi Rookus), Steve (Carolyn Rookus), Tom (Rhonda Rookus) and Kathryn Chesebro (Rookus); his sister Mary (Bruce Athearn); and his siblings-in-law, John, Nancy Riley (Alverson), Jean Alverson, Joe and Linda Alverson. He is also survived by his 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
