With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Arlie Roop of Monroe, Michigan, born in Radford, Virginia, who passed away on October 12, 2020 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas Roop and Della Roop; his wife Georgia; his son William E. Roop Sr.; his sister Frances Shaw; and his great grandchild Zachary Roop.

He is survived by : his grandsons, William Roop Jr. (Sherry) and Joseph T. Roop; his great grandchildren, Carolyne Simpson (Robert), Samantha Young (Kyle), Jon Roop and Bradley Roop; his great great grandchildren, Gabriella Young, Luke Simpson and Landon Young; and his close friends, Roger and Maxine Elliot.

“My heart is heavy as I heard the news of Arlie's passing. He was a kind hearted man who enjoyed sharing stories from his past. He reminded me of my own grandfather in the way he spoke. I made him a Father's Day card and it seemed to thrill him. Our loss but for sure Heaven's gain. My prayers go out to you the family and friends as I know he will be sadly missed. Thank you to Roger and Maxine for bringing him to church where I met a friend, I will never forget.”
