He was predeceased by: his wife Rosalie; and his uncle Frank. He is survived by: his children, Father Christopher Alar of Stockbridge, MA and Pam Liedel of Monroe; his grandchildren, Brian Liedel Jr. (Courtney) and Andrea Liedel; his great grandchildren, Makinlee Liedel and Maebry Liedel; and his siblings, Susan Vandevelde of Monroe and Karl Alar of Washington State.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Merkle Funeral Service (2442 N Monroe St, Monroe, MI 48162). The lying in state was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (502 W Front St, Monroe, MI 48161). A Mass was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
