He was predeceased by: his parents, Emery James and Margaret June Wagasy (Kurtzhals). He is survived by: his wife Cindy Johnson; his daughters, Melissa Wagasy of Detroit and Andrea Shappee (Scott) of Monroe; his brother Kevin Wagasy (Sandy) of Warren; his grandchildren, Dylan, Bella, Keira, Teagan and Riley; and his great grandchild River James.
