He is survived by : his children, Emily Carey-Hayes (Alex Hayes) of Monroe and Shaun Wilson of Monroe; his partner Shirley Herrell; his grandchildren, Destiny Jennings, Desmariah Jennings, Marcus Carey, Xavier Hayes, Alantay Hayes, Wesley Hayes, Kylah Carey, Daisha Wilson and Shaun Wilson Jr.; his great grandchildren, Leaunte, Journee, Nalayah, Winter, August and Aniyah; his sisters, Lois Rhymer, Susie Burchfield, Myrtle Mayes and Mary Burchfield; and his nephews, Ricky Brooks, Alfred Stanley and Dewey.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Merkle Funeral Service (2442 N Monroe St, Monroe, MI 48162). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Merkle Enterprises Inc..
