It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Justin James Smith of Monroe, Michigan, born in Carson City, Michigan, who passed away on September 17, 2022, at the age of 36, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brother Ethan Smith; his cousins, Austin Blemaster, Joey and Tyler Jones; his grandparents, James Smith, Jim and Betty Jernstadt; and his uncles, Ace Jernstadt and Karl Blemaster.

He is survived by: his parent Carol Jernstadt of Rockwood, MI; his sons, Mason and Myles Smith; his brothers, Travis Smith (Rachel) of New Boston, MI and Luke Smith of Grand Ledge, MI; his niece Adelaide Smith; his grandmother Colleen Smith of Lansing; his significant other Melissa Nagel Day; and his significant other's sons, Robert and Travis Day. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the education fund for Justin's sons.
